Posted October 14, 2013 My focus is really lacking power and I noticed a new slight whine from (i think) the turbo. Not sure if its dirty or its on its way out but considering the type of damage you would get from a blown turbo I decided to purchase a refurbished unit from ebay for about 300 quid.
Ford Focus Mk2 1.6 TDCi During the "routine" clearing of the intake lines from oil traces (please don't ask why but the oil in intake was a major problem since the car was new), noticed that a small steel pipe connecting to the turbo came loose. I don't know what that pipe is. It is 1/4 inch

I have a 2006 1.6 tdci and in January my turbo failed. I had it replaced and it lasted for 800 miles then the new turbo failed. This has happen four times now. Each time I have taken it back to my local ford dealer. They have replaced it each time until now.
