How to grill cedar plank salmon. Preheat your grill. While your cedar plank soaks, light your grill of choice โ both charcoal and gas work great here โ and get it up to temperature. We aim for somewhere around 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Establish a direct heat zone and an indirect heat zone. Char your plank (optional).
Here are the pointers, or jump to the recipe below for all the specifics: Preheat the grill to medium high: thatโs 375 to 450 degrees. Place the salmon on foil. Brush it with olive oil and season it (more on that below). Close the packet and seal it up. Grill 6 minutes with the foil packet closed.

Lightly spray or brush the griddle with some oil and preheat it to a medium to high temperature. Season both sides of the fish with a pinch of salt and a little pepper. Rub the seasoning gently into the salmon flesh with your hands. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap after you have done it.
