Guild Wars 2 has a total of 10 possible playable races, including 5 core races and 5 additional ones from expansions. The sheer number of playable races in Guild Wars 2 is a testament to the game’s expansive world and the level of detail that has gone into its design.
The charr are a race of large, savage, feline creatures that occupy much of eastern Tyria. They have renounced all gods as false and instead view all of life, from magic to combat, with a hard, cynical eye. Their culture has developed into a military state where they are raised as warriors from birth. They are the extent of what a mortal being with an unnatural reserve of magic could become. In GW1 there were necromancers of all races, and not all those races pulled their powers from the gods. Human necromancers simply called upon Grenths power as he is the humans God of Necromancy, that is all.
Supposedly the Guardian magic tradition is a mix+evolution of Monk, Paragon and Spiritualist from the GW1 days. Monk definetly had religious tones, but Paragon was less magic and more martial / internal reserves and Spiritualist kinda explains itself. 2. Rahkeesh.
Aside from that i have a norn and an asura. But they don't have much time on them. I did before all the personal histories of all races, i think i missed one story quest option (not branch. only one instance), but thats it. Looked back around two times, no point on other races if i don't like them. Warriors are masters of weaponry who rely on speed, strength, toughness, and heavy armor to survive in battle. Adrenaline fuels their offensive power—the longer warriors stay in a fight, the more dangerous they become.Race is flavor only, changing some parts of the story and dialogues. Most racial skills are useless, and this is by design. Some racial skills are useful at endgame, because the good skills were nerfed, but it should change soon. You can create a good thief with any race you want, so no worries. Have fun :D.BXecu.
